YouTube appoints Web3-friendly exec as new CEO

YouTube’s new CEO Neal Mohan previously emphasized that NFTs could be an important tool for the platform’s content creators to develop additional revenue streams.

After Jenny Wojcicki resigned last week, Google search Group's YouTube served as a Web3-friendly executive named Neil Mohan to the new CEO.

After nine years at the helm of YouTube, Wolsey left YouTube on Feb. 16, outlining plans for a "new chapter" that is gradually committed to home, health and personal projects. During his tenure, she oversaw the important introduction of revenue-sharing, among other things.

Looking forward to the future, she will continue to work as a consultant for Google's parent company, Alphabet.

Before becoming the new CEO, Mohan served as YouTube's chief product officer and oversaw the removal of controversial video boredom buttons, launching YouTube shorts and its YouTube Music to compete with the TikTok market.

At the Web3 level, Mohan outlined a conscious or unintentional plan to integrate a range of features, such as the perception of etverse content and the identification of specific content based on unchangeable dynamic passwords (NFT), in February 2022, which depressed the NFT-averse community at the time.

Mohan stressed that NFT can give creators a new way to interact with their audience and develop and design more fixed income. He lists creators as examples of the potential of their videos, photos, plastic arts and sensory logo changes.

Web3 opens up new opportunities for creators. I have always believed that technologies such as blockchain and NFT allow creators and fans to create deep connections. On February 10, 2022, she wrote in an online article that they would be able to collaborate on new projects and make money in an unprecedented way.

Although the plan was released last year, the plan related to Web3 has not been completed, but given that Mohan is now leading the enterprise, it may be promoted again in the near future.

After the news that Mohan became the new CEO of YouTube, the total number of FUD sent by energetic NFT skeptics on Twitter was surprisingly limited, and they were often quick to criticize all reports related to the main link to the technology.
