Online fraudsters attempt to lure in XRP investors by offering fake staking services with an ROI of up to 31% for a token that is not based on proof-of-stake consensus.
The cryptocurrency community has warned of a new scam that targets XRP (XRP) investors through an untrue mortgage plan.
Online fraudsters, based on the establishment of fake websites and e-mail impostors, counterfeit important cryptocurrency enterprises such as Ripple and Binance, and pretend to be XRP to provide mortgage services.
One such website contains an online article called "XRP Bet Will Face Retail Customers at the Beginning of January 2023", inviting customers to "bet" XRP with unrealistic ROI, with yields ranging from 12% to 27%. The false report plan attempts to speed up the determination of XRP investors by stating that only the first 10000 accounts will obtain a higher return on investment.
This fake website copied the most original layout font style of Ripple's website Ripple.com, and connected some previous online articles, thus providing an elaborate copy. The simulation show also tries to use the most important hardware wallet (such as Ledger or Trezor) of the application plus information about the necessity of its own monitoring to improve the credibility of the post.
The fraud website has many mirror system domains ending with ". org. th" or ". com. ve", aiming at XRP customers from all over the country.
XRP gambling website fraud accompanied by counterfeit Binance's replacement email, and the return on investment of XRP gambling reached 31%. The field enthusiast RipplePandaXRP warned the XRP community about the fraud on Twitter on January 21.
RipplePandaXRP wrote: "Do not send XRP to an uncertain detailed address, and check the detailed address from beginning to end to see if it is a legal and compliance website.".
In other words, the real Binance Exchange actually gave XRP block chain technology equity financing (DeFi) as part of the Binance Earn plan. However, Binance's XRP DeFi mortgage plan only allows users to earn 1.4% profit every year.
