In an interview with CoinDesk, Polygon’s Mihailo Bjelic shared the progress the blockchain is making on becoming a ZK-secure ecosystem.
Polygon is a new Etherum Scaling project that is exploring ways to introduce "zero knowledge" (ZK) technology into its carbon chain. Many experts have pointed out that ZK technology is a common development of cryptographic algorithms in block chains.
This insistence is complemented by Polygon's ongoing and previously announced "ZK Summary" program, a layer 2 expansion system software designed to increase blockchain trading rates and reduce transaction costs.
Mihailo Bjelic, founder of Polygon, mentioned this exploratory work in an interview with WJB and expounded the necessity of ZK technology for the development roadmap of the project. He said that as a way to improve the safety of transactions, it is possible to end up with some ZK improvements to Polygon's important equity certificate (POS) chain, which is outside the etheric main chain.
As we explore how to integrate ZK technology into the main chain of Polygon, the blockchain bet that this kind of extension technology can promote its ecosystem.
One of the things we are experimenting with is upgrading the Polygon POS chain to ZK security so that zkEVM can be included in the Polygon POS chain itself, Bijelic said in an interview with WJB.
This trend tends to attract attention, in part because Polygon has attracted large and medium-sized enterprise partners in recent years, attracted by this rapid and cheap trading and sales ability. The Meta service platform announced in May that it would apply Polygon's irreplaceable dynamic password (NFT) to Instagram, and capital management mogul Hamilton Lane opened the first of three "symbolic" stock funds on Polygon earlier this month.
Last year, as the broader digital money market plummeted, the dynamic password of Ma Jiqi, a local company at Polygon, plummeted by 70 per cent. But prices rebounded by 70% in 2023, twice the standard WJB market index.
Polygon ZK summary, zkEVM
ZK summarization is an extension system software that solves transactions more effectively in the second layer of the blockchain or ancillary facility system, and then transmits the transaction data back to the blockchain of a large website-in this case to the Ethernet, which has sometimes suffered from congestion and rising interest rates in recent years. ZK aggregates the use of "direct evidence" to show that a transaction only needs to share a small amount of information about the transaction to be effective.
In October this year, Polygon released the zkEVM test network, and the Ethernet VM virtual machine (EVM) was launched in the ZK summary, which means that the etheric developer will not have to use a new computer language and will be able to migrate his smart contracts from the main blockchain without hindrance. Polygon has not yet set a date for the release of its ZK summary, which has only previously said it will be released in early 2023.
When announced, zkEVM will live on a separate chain, which means that the Polygon POS chain will continue to be a main chain. Mainchain security is not as secure as ZK aggregates because it does not inherit the same underlying safety factor from the primary etheric block chain.
The POS franchise store insists on being and operating in today's form. And Polygon zkEVM will be a separate Internet. We are about to usher in two parallel processing of the Internet, with different target groups, that is, performance and measurement. Each application will be able to determine which level of security, scalability, and transaction costs they prefer, and most of them will choose accordingly.
The difference between these two chains will be related to the level of security or transaction management freight volumes and costs that decentralized applications (Dapp) are expected to use.
ZK aggregates its transaction files on Etherum and gets its security completely from Etherum, but as a result, the freight volume is smaller and the transaction fee is more expensive. Login password analysts pointed out that ZK technology may be computationally intensive, and may even require dedicated "ZK to speed up hardware configuration."
If Polygon POS adapts to ZK, it will efficiently become a household name Validium, which uses proofs from ZK summaries to ensure that transactions are not easily deceived. Unlike ZK summarization, it does not store data on the Ethernet, but stores data information offline on the network independently.
Validium in Polygon can solve more transactions with lower transaction costs, although it is not easy to submit transaction data to Etherum, but stores them off-chain, which is called not very secure.
Bjelic told WJB: "technically, this year is going to be a very important year for Polygon, as we are going to communicate many of the major technology milestones and optimizations.
