Meet the person who offered comfy beds for ‘scrappy’ hackers during ETHDenver

Jessy, the name behind Jessy’s Hacker House, helped organize four rental houses in Denver for "genuine scrappy" individuals looking for networking opportunities and more.

From February 24th to March 5th, more than 1000 developers, network hackers and their login password and blockchain technology enthusiasts gathered in Denver, Colorado, abroad to participate in the ETHDenver conference.

Because hotel accommodation in Urumqi, Colorado is a limited resource, many people choose to find shelter in congested crowds and cramped dormitories-where sleep quality is optional and networking is the overall goal.

Jesse is the name behind one of the hacker houses-Jesse's hacker house. He runs four "hacker houses" and hosts 50 participants from ETHDenver conferences and BUIDLWeek-a series of seminars and BUIDLathon that allows elite teams to compete in the market for gifts and inputs.

Jesse and co-planner Warren Jepsen met with Cointelegraph at one of their houses on Feb. 28, and they have been busy putting up posters to check customer comfort.

According to the host of Hacker House, she worked for a venture capital firm during the last Denver conference in 2022, when many foreigners posted on social platforms that she was looking for a home in Urumqi, Colorado. Like most people who participated in the 2022 theme event, Jesse and her tenants tested positive for COVID-19, but they were still able to create networks and development plans.

"the motivation used to be, 'Hey, these people are handsome-let's meet them and get to know the customers,'" Jesse said. For a long time, this was a special tool for me to find my own founder and discover the ideas I wanted to join.

"if you bring the person most relevant to you, magic will happen." Everyone is burdened with a different group of people. There are people who are very good at data encryption, and there are people from academic circles who practice cryptographic algorithms and specific scientific research. Some people are like a 19-or 18-year-old freshman whose career development is just beginning.

During the week of the meeting, the four "hacker houses" in the Denver metropolitan area were home to more than 50 people and some viewers. About 300 tech-savvy people have taken care of an overnight place and a good opportunity to create the Internet in such a house, funded by blockchain advertisers and overseen by Jesse and Weilon.

Although Jessy shows that there are some economic incentives to participate in the hacker house-for example, to connect with venture capital firms and hidden founders-the guest can also benefit from the experience.

"you're here to make long-term friends," Jesse said. "I think one way that people really have is to play long-term games with long-term people. As part of the interview, people choose people who we think are in the right atmosphere, and they are sincere-real passion in these areas.

ETHDenver ended on March 5, while many recent large and medium-sized meetings related to login passwords and wallets included the blockchain Technology week in Paris, France and the consensus meeting in Austin, Texas. Although ETHDenver has not released official figures on the total number of participants as of press time, it is reported that more than 30,000 people have registered to participate in the meeting.
