Judge mulls removing Shaq and Naomi Osaka from FTX lawsuits

The plaintiffs have until December to show cause as to why the two sports stars should not be dismissed from the lawsuit.

A federal judge in Florida is trying to dismiss NBA star Shaquille O'Neill and tennis player Naomi Osaka from the FTX lawsuit, noting that it is not clear whether the two men have been sent.

It is reported that in an electronic directive, US District Judge K Michael Moore told the plaintiff the reason why O'Neill and Osaka should not be dismissed. According to Moore, it is not clear whether the two sports stars have been sentenced. The judge ordered FTX users to give a clear reason by December.

The order for the program is one of several electronic orders issued by the judge on March 9. In another directive, Moore reprimanded other celebrities and defendants for delaying the scheduled conference and failing to adopt a proper process.

The defendants, including Tom Brady, Giselle Bundchen, Aaron Oakley, Peter Ortiz and Cornelius Oliver, were postponed. However, the judge pointed out that the requirement should have come from the plaintiff's side. Moore said:

The people's court ordered the plaintiff, not the defendant, to apply for an increase in the time for holding a working meeting.

That is why, according to Moore, the scheduled meeting will take place as scheduled, or the plaintiff may increase the time for the meeting.

In addition, with a mountain of cases against FTX, some plaintiffs have stipulated a joint prosecution of failed exchanges. However, on March 8, a judge rejected the merger request, highlighting the opportunity that the defendant had not received a response. U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Skins Kono (Jacqueline Scott Corley) recently rejected five class action claims against FTX.

On the same day, it meant that Rob Bankman-fried, a lawyer who was the former CEO of the FTX, pointed out that it was likely that the criminal trial would have to be delayed in October. Although lawyers did not announce a change in the time limit, they pointed out that this might be necessary because they were still waiting for direct evidence to be handed over to them, and Bankman-Fry had a large number of complaints in February.
