Italy blocks ChatGPT, investigates suspected violations

The move follows a recent data breach suffered by the AI platform on March 20, where user data was exposed to a user.

Italy's regulator, which maintains data, has temporarily blocked the artificial intelligence chat robot ChatGPT and investigated individuals suspected of violating data privacy rules.

The data maintenance organization has issued an order to immediately limit the data resolution of Italian customers by OpenAI, an American company behind ChatGPT. The agency's focus is actually a response to the recent data leak suffered by artificial intelligence institutions on March 20.

In addition, Italian data regulators have stressed that customers lack information at the level of data collected by OpenAI. In addition, the agency stressed the lack of legal provisions to prove that it is reasonable for artificial intelligence to collect and store its own data on a large scale when practicing its optimization algorithm. The agency also mentioned that the information provided by artificial intelligence chatbots does not necessarily reflect real data to determine that there may be errors in the treatment of their own data.

In addition, the Italian data regulator said ChatGPT's own data maintenance standards were likely to be violated. According to the agency, although ChatGPT is limited to people over the age of 13, there is no filter in the app to verify the age of the customer. This means that minors may be exposed to brain answers that are not suitable for their growth and development.

Apart from Italy, AI chatbots are facing work pressure from other parts of the world. On March 31st, the current Policy Core of artificial Intelligence and Digital (CAIDP) complained to ChatGPT in an attempt to block the release of powerful AI system software to the public. CAIDP described the chatbot as a "biased" and "fraudulent" channel that poses risks to public security and privacy.
