Here’s how the World Economic Forum leaps into the metaverse — Davos 2023

Industry insiders highlight World Economic Forum workshops on the metaverse focusing on user privacy, asset protection and regulation.

As ecosystems continue to promote indigenous innovation in a variety of industries, Web3 and virtual worlds have won a place at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2023.

With Cointelegraph exploring the World Economic Forum again, the emergence of digital money and blockchain ecosystem software is mainly found outside the walls of the forum. The blockchain technology core area Davos Forum and the "blockchain Technology Core" of the World blockchain Business Federation are two central theme activities, which bring together a wider login password community, while the World Economic Forum's discussion of the industry has been removed from this community to some extent.

The virtual world is an obvious exception. Although some virtual world applications do not operate on decentralized blockchain systems, key advocates in the region attended high-rise housing seminars at the World Economic Forum. such seminars are dedicated to mastering and planning the future development integration of new technology applications.

The agenda of the World Economic Forum includes two seminars to explore virtual worlds immediately, which is also part of the 2023 World Economic Forum's "definition and Infrastructure Virtual World".

The first seminar, called "New reality: creating a Virtual World", was lectured by Charles Cox, chief product officer of Meta, and the second theme was "deployment in the virtual world of industrial production", which discussed how to use the benefits of the virtual world in various fields while avoiding its potential for subversive innovation.

The World Economic Forum is also exploring interactive experiences within the scope of the exchange. The 2023 conference allows delegates to experience community forums in their 3D immersive digital conferencing system, the Worldwide Cooperative Village.

During the week-long conference, the customized intelligent body allows delegates of the World Economic Forum to explore Davos in the virtual world and feel customized. Decentralized or not, the organization is tapping the potential of Web3 to bring more to representatives based on interactive experience.

With a wider range of traditional financial industry, decision makers and representatives looking to re-grasp the market prospects and potential hazards of the virtual world ecosystem, the distributed ledger virtual world service platform also appears in Davos.

Play in sandboxie's game.

Cointelegraph communicated with sandboxie game founder Sebastian Borguet at the exclusive leisure event of German lunch for a week and a half. This gathering is held at the Shahip Hotel Restaurant (Schatzalp Hotel) every January, and many representatives of the World Economic Forum dine and exchange on the snowy terrace of the scenic main venue in Davos.

Sandboxie game has become a popular virtual reality technology service platform for blockchain technology all over the world. Its collaboration with popular brands and enterprises is an important Raqqa, which is part of Borguet's participation in some high-level seminars on virtual worlds at the 2023 World Economic Forum.

Borguet held meetings with government ministries and those responsible for digital transformation to focus on empowerment, protection of data access and the digital economy. It is a reasonable position to fully consider that half of the world's population now exceeds the number of indigenous people of Generation Z, he said.

"you still need to unravel the mystery of what the incarnation is today and what it will be in the next three, five, or ten years."

As a shot of a chat within the World Economic Forum with virtual worlds at its core, Borguet revealed that stakeholders are concerned about data privacy and security concerns:

"how can we ensure that the virtual world service platform attaches importance to personal information security and enforces adequate standards or controls to ensure the security and maintenance of customers and digital currency?"

Borguet said he is expected to discuss with representatives of the European Parliament the general policies and regulations on the protection of personal information implemented in May 2018, as well as those that revolve around artificial intelligence technology, digital currency and how there is no substitute for dynamic passwords (NFT).

Borguet feels that the regulation of the field is inevitable, but hopes that this conversation will ensure that the field has indoor space for innovation and experimentation. This may avoid the shackles of limited countermeasures in the virtual world over the next few years:

This is an opportunity to ensure that such policies and regulations are not particularly oriented to entrepreneurs, so that they can really create something interesting here, develop trends and advance the ideas of others. Therefore, we should try to participate in the conversation as early as possible instead of trying to solve the problem too late.

Sandboxie, the founder of the game, described the "pragmatic" nature of the WEF virtual world seminar, saying that this kind of conference is different from the typical conference with group discussion or speech as the core. The research group discussed important topics in detail within the World Economic Forum, while Borguet had ample opportunities to create and cooperate with the wider cryptographic community in various events around Davos.

"We should have a more noise."

The World Economic Forum and popular organizations seem to be acutely aware of the prospects for Web3 performance and interactive experience. On a snowy Thursday night, Luce and Eden Sackmann, the founders of virtual world service platform Upland, shared the experience with Cointelegraph outside BlockChain Hub's seaside boulevard.

The two men participated in a wonderful speech and online communication with the brain of login password and blockchain technology. The conversation closely around the flow of virtual reality applications provides a learning opportunity. Luce focuses on the need for industry leaders to have greater dominance among decision makers and industry leaders at meetings such as the World Economic Forum.

"I think basically everyone firmly believes that the Internet will evolve into a personal visit to its version number. It will take a while, but people are aware of this and are taking the first step to understand how customers fit into the program.

According to Lueth, the government procurement process is another important criterion for promoting the right to use data and the social economy. In his view, the open virtual world Internet brings a variety of self-entrepreneurial media opportunities, and closed system software may not be able to provide such opportunities.

Sackmann gives a more carefully considered view that the future of virtual reality technology will be a combination of centralized and decentralized elements:

"I always care about the government procurement process; this is not a 1 or 0; this is a gradient direction. Therefore, there are some elements that must, should and can also issue rights, and this is undoubtedly the first batch.

Cointelegraph saw these examples with his own eyes in Davos. In organizing a group discussion on the organization's choice of virtual reality technology, the two speakers represented popular virtual world solutions advanced in virtual reality technology.

Accenture's David Treat describes their cutting-edge extended reality technology, while Vince Cacace mentions Vertebe's 3D and augmented reality e-commerce platform. Both projects run on blockchain applications and are based on popular institutions and business customers.

Interoperability will be an integral part of the evolution of a variety of virtual world platforms and applications, but the 2023 Davos Community Forum shows that collaboration and innovation are already taking place. Blockchain technology and centralization have been interoperable, giving us a glimpse into the future of this field.
