Gary Gensler, the current president of the American Stock Trading Federation (SEC), has found a new audience for their secret skepticism-the United States Army.
On January 11th, the U.S. Army held its first Twitter Spaces-themed event in 2023, with Gensler and the SEC committee Caroline Crenshaw participating in a discussion to give accounting advice on how and where American soldiers should invest.
Lieutenant Oliver Holmes stressed that "some soldiers have been looking for these alternative project investments [such as] login password property." she asked the two people about the risks of investing in the login password project.
Gensler replied: "this is also the wild Midwest," he added. "most of these 10 or 15000 tokens will not succeed."
"History tells us that there is not much room for external economic loans, which means that we will have US dollars, Europe and so on."
He urged soldiers not to "get caught up in FOMO-- and be afraid of missing it", calling digital currencies "relatively high levels of foreign exchange speculation" and "irregularities".
"most of them do not comply with the securities law, but they should."
Gensler further suggested that if soldiers saw that the yield was "amazingly good-probably true", whether it was based on the login password or not.
Crenshaw could supplement Gensler's message that digital currencies were "famous for deception" and said:
"they claim to be transparent, and what's in blockchain technology is transparent, but the rest is not transparent, and I think there have been some cases of this recently."
People who invest in data encryption projects must "carefully consider" the percentage of asset allocation in which their money is invested in digital currency, she said.
In response to the American Stock Trading Federation's advice on where U.S. army combat workers should put their dollars, Crenshaw told the army to invest "as much as possible" in the savings Plan (TSP), a government-funded retirement plan for federal employees and active-duty workers.
