Binance blocks some accounts amid Bitzlato case: ‘Funds are safe’

Binance says it has already unblocked 90% of crypto accounts that were suspended due to the Bitzlato investigation.

Binance, the digital currency exchange, has been quietly shutting down several accounts on the site related to Bitzlato research.

On January 18th, a group of Spanish-speaking Binance customers complained that their accounts had been closed and that they could not obtain assets from the exchange. Affected users created Telegram group chats to report problems, saying the accounts were blocked without warning.

A member of the group-now more than 1000 people-immediately generalized the ban with the Justice Department's enforcement action against Bitzlato, a data encryption company. Foreign financial crime inspection Internet has also listed Binance as one of the top BTC (BTC) counterparties of Bitzlato.

Many chat group members openly admit to using Bitzlato, including incoming and outgoing transactions between Bitzlato and Binance accounts. Some affected users also expressed anger and concern about the Bitzlatow operation.

"although I haven't been banned at any time, I just lost some on BTC-e,Wex, which is currently Bitzlato, but I think this restriction is bold," a member of the chat group wrote.

"the obstacles associated with Bitzlatow are groundless. So far, they have not been found guilty of breaking the law, only charged, so how will this large sum of money be dirty? Another user asked.

A spokesman for Binance told Cointelegraph that the recent dismissals were indeed related to Bitzlato. This means: "Last week, our own elite team of compliance management and research stopped the accounts of some users in several countries, including Eastern European countries and CIS countries, in the Bitzlatow case."

A spokesman for Binance noted that the vast majority of dismissals were temporary and said:

At this stage, more than 90% of the accounts have been opened, and users have been told this. Any asset is perfectly safe. The affected users-fewer than 20-have been provided with some inspection contact numbers.

Log in to the password exchange and advise users to check Binance's posts to explore a variety of reasons why his Binance account may be blocked and what to do in such a situation.

As previously reported, Bitzlato is an unknown digital money service that allows users to buy and sell encrypted data based on exchanges and peer-to-peer services. As we all know, the website maintains a key operation in Russia and is reported to be operating on skyscrapers in the federal commercial building in Moscow.

According to a complaint filed by the US government, Bitzlato operates without any proper grasp of client procedures, which helps it become a haven for criminal investment returns and funds for criminal acts.
